TASTING NOTES:
César Príncipe is made from the fruit of two vineyards aged over 60 years old. This is a dense, powerful wine, not to mention its elegance and silkiness. Definitely a benchmark in Cigales. An intense cherry colour and very dense, this wine has a powerful aroma, revealing black fruits, lactic notes, high roast, toast and some fairly strong hints of its alcohol content on a mineral background. Powerful, flavoursome, warm and meaty on the palate, the tannins are much in evidence but perfectly pleasant. It has good persistence and reasonable length.Aged for 16 months in French and American oak barrels.
Grapes: Tempranillo
CELLAR: Bodegas Cesar Príncipe
REGION: Cigales is a relatively small wine region located on the banks of the River Pisuerga, in the center of Castilla y Leon, northern Spain. Despite the relative recentness of its DO status, which it was granted in 1991, the region has a long history of winemaking.
